Modeling Process

Main Objective

To model the spread of an infectious disease and evaluate the impact of transmission rate and vaccination on the epidemic curve and herd immunity.

Running the Model

    Set the Transmission Rate to reflect the infectivity of the pathogen.

  2. 2

    Adjust the Vaccination Coverage to represent the initial immunity in the population.

  3. 3

    Set the Recovery Time (how long an individual remains infectious).

  4. 4

    Click 'Start Outbreak' and observe the interaction between individuals.

  5. 5

    Analyze the resulting Epidemic Curve in the Results tab, noting the peak infection value.
