Mendelian Genetics Simulator

Predict offspring genotypes and phenotypes using Punnett squares.

Principles

Main Objective

To predict the genotypic and phenotypic ratios of offspring from monohybrid and dihybrid crosses following Mendel's Laws of Inheritance.

Predicting Offspring

  1. 1

Select the type of cross: Monohybrid (one trait) or Dihybrid (two traits).

  2. 2

Choose the genotypes for Parent 1 and Parent 2.

  3. 3

Observe the gametes produced by each parent based on the Law of Segregation.

  4. 4

Examine the Punnett square to see all possible combinations of alleles in the offspring.

  5. 5

Analyze the resulting genotypic and phenotypic ratios in the Results tab.
